Epsom Speakers is a Toastmasters International club that has been helping local people find their voice since 1966. We are part of the world’s largest public speaking organisation, with over 14,000 clubs and hundreds of thousands of members across more than 140 countries.
Over the decades we have helped hundreds of people go from terrified to confident public speakers – including one member who went on to nearly win the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking.
What we do
We meet twice a month at Stoneleigh Methodist Church Centre in Epsom (our meetings are non-religious and open to everyone). Each meeting combines prepared speeches from members working through our structured Pathways learning programme with impromptu speaking that anyone, including guests, can join in with.
Every speech is evaluated by a fellow member, which is where the real learning happens: you get specific, supportive feedback every time you speak, and you learn just as much by evaluating others.
Who it’s for
Whether you want to get promoted, run better meetings, overcome nerves before a big presentation, or simply become more comfortable speaking to a room, Epsom Speakers is a supportive place to practise. Members range from complete beginners to experienced speakers, and many do not have English as a first language – everyone is welcome.
We are a non-profit, entirely volunteer-run club. Guests are always welcome to come along and see what we are about, free of charge. Membership costs just £70 for 6 months plus a £20 joining fee, which goes straight back into running the club. Email us at info@epsomspeakers.co.uk to say hello, or see When We Meet and Where We Meet for details of our next meeting.
